First post for this blog. I started blogging when I was about 13years old and since then has probably had about 7 or 8 blogs in the past, so including this one it will be about.. 9 blogs?? Excluding this one I currently only have 2 other blogs with I write in frequently. I haven't used blogspot for a while so everything seems kind of foreign to me now. Haha. Anyway, I decided to look for some free skins to use for my blog since the ones provided are just way too boring for me. Was originally thinking about going with a nice light colour for the background but then realised that as this blog will be image heavy, photos look better on black background.

Well, the first post isn't really much, just an introductory post (and also so I can test out my new blog skin). The photographs included in this post are of me. A few years back my friend who studied Visual Communication @ UTS had used me as a model for her photography assignment. She gave me a copy of the shots she had taken (raw) and when I was bored, I decided to photoshop them.

I didn't do much to them since they were professionally taken at the photo studio on DAB level 2. The lighting and everything are the pretty much the same since she had used a filter on the lights while taking these. I used photoshop to retouch my skin, remove some stray hairs and just enhance my make up a bit.

For those that haven't used photoshop before, you will soon learn that layers are an important part of photoshop. All my retouching for different parts of the photo have been done on multiple layers (don't worry if you're confused now. When you get used to using layers, you won't be able to live without them!). I haven't done much else to the photo perhaps just adjusted the levels a bit and used a different filter.

I have also done colouring on photoshop which you can find on my deviantart (website link in my profile. Too lazy to link it here). For those that don't know, deviantart is a website which allows artists and designers to share their work with other artists and designers. There is also a blogging function on there but pretty much the entire site is image heavy with works submitted by users. It's quite a useful website if you want to set up your e-portfolio actually.

Well anyway, that's it from me for a long first post (because I am hooked on blogging sometimes my posts tend to drag on like essays and my short attention span doesn't really help either). Hope everyone like the photos I've put up. I am trying to keep them as much related to Digital Fashion Communication as possible. Also, just a random fact to finish off this post, the pink one-piece dress in the last photo is made by me from scratch back in 2006. It is something you will often see girls who follow Japaneses Gothic & Lolita Fashion wear. The dress is actually from the movie "Kamikaze Girls" and I had to do a promo for the Japanese Film Festival back in 2006, hence why I made the dress. So yea, that's one thing I do for a hobby, I like to make costumes.

Peace Out!
